Bob Misiak – Senior Pastor: In the early 1990’s, Bob and his family moved to Northeast Pennsylvania and started attending a church in Pike County. While driving through the Lords Valley area, Bob would often be compelled to stop and pray for the people of the area. Over time, it became clear that God was calling Bob and his wife Sue to plant a church in Lords Valley.
In 1999, Bob and a core team actively started praying and planning for the start of Lords Valley Community Church. During this time, the core group met in area homes. During this time, Bob was also building relationships with New Covenant Community Church of Bethlehem, PA (www.nc4.org) and the One Focus Network of Churches (https://onefocus.global).
On October 28, 2001, New Covenant Church of Bethlehem, PA commissioned this core team which became known as Lords Valley Community Church. Public services started in a meeting room at Laurel Ridge Restaurant on September 1, 2002. The church is meeting in space directly behind and attached to the Ryan's Deli Building in Lords Valley, PA.
Bob began and pastored Lords Valley Community Church while also teaching at Orange County Community College in Middletown, New York. In 1989, Bob started the Radiologic Technology Program at Orange. For most of the years between 1989 and 2022, Bob chaired the department. It was clear that he needed to step down as chairman so that he would have more time to devote to pastoring and in 2008, Bob stepped out of administration into a teaching position from which he retired in 2022.
Whether Bob is teaching Physics at Orange County Community College or the Bible at Lords Valley Community Church, his greatest teaching strength may be making the seemingly complex topics easy to understand. Life application is paramount and one needs to understand God’s principles to live them out.
Bob and his wife Sue have been married for over 40 years and have four children and five grandchildren.
